What we do

Every page on ConsultCalc is a single-purpose conversion calculator. Type a number, see the result. Below the calculator: a reference table of common values, the conversion formula, and links to related conversions in the same category. That's it.

Most online conversion sites bury the calculator under three pages of SEO copy, autoplay videos, or popup signup forms. ConsultCalc puts the answer first. The reading material is below the answer for people who want it.

How the math is verified

Conversion factors are based on the SI definitions and the US customary system, verified against NIST reference tables. A few key constants:

1 inch = 0.0254 meters (exact)
1 pound = 0.45359237 kilograms (exact)
1 US gallon = 3.785411784 liters (exact)
1 mile = 1,609.344 meters (exact)
°F = (°C × 9/5) + 32 (exact)

Privacy

The conversions run entirely in your browser using plain JavaScript. There is no server-side processing of your inputs, no account required, no tracking of the numbers you type. Standard analytics may be used to measure page views in aggregate; nothing tied to specific conversions or individual visitors.

Why "ConsultCalc"

The site started as a financial calculator project for consultants and pivoted to general-purpose unit conversions when it became clear the bigger gap in the market was: a fast, clean, ad-light conversion site that just works on mobile. The name stuck.
